Printing Love You Could Eat. First 3D-Printed Food Experience

Every February, Mazola runs De Buen Corazón — a campaign about heart health. Heart Health Month and Valentine’s Day fall in the same month. Two kinds of love — one romantic, one life-saving — living side by side. If we could connect them, we could make the message unforgettable.

That’s where the idea came in: edible Valentine’s cards.

Not just any cards — the first 3D food-printed cards. Made from fruits, vegetables, and Mazola Corn Oil — all rich in plant sterols proven to help lower bad cholesterol.

I led the strategy, positioning, and creative planning. We secured partnerships with eight major supermarket chains. We trained in-store teams to operate the 3D food printers. We designed recipes with the University Ana G. Méndez culinary school — using batata, peas, potato, and Mazola Corn Oil.

Over the course of the month:

  • 32 live printing activations across the island

  • Over 6,000 consumers engaged in person

  • 14% lift in ad awareness

  • 7% lift in brand awareness

  • 10% increase in recognition of Mazola as the healthiest oil brand

  • PR coverage in national press and TV

  • Social impressions topping 500,000 in four weeks

The real magic wasn’t in the numbers.
It was in the smiles of people holding a card that said “I love you” and “I want you to live longer” in the same bite.
An activation they’d never seen before — and probably won’t forget.

We didn’t just tell them Mazola was good for the heart.

We let them taste it.
